FAQ

Straight answers for the questions people ask first.

AfterReps is opinionated software. These answers explain how the blocker works, what permissions matter, how unlocks are earned, and where platform limits come from.

Core product questions

What does AfterReps actually do?

AfterReps turns selected app opens into a workout gate. When you try to open a chosen app, the product can stop that flow, ask for a short set, and grant timed access only after the reps are completed.

Does it relock automatically when time runs out?

Yes. The core loop is built around earned minutes, not permanent bypass. When the timer expires, selected apps relock automatically so the rule stays intact.

Can I unlock one app without unlocking every app?

Yes. AfterReps is designed around unlock scope. Depending on the setup, a workout can unlock the requested app only or a broader set for the duration window.

Which workouts are supported?

The product is built around camera-verified movement categories such as push-ups, squats, and other guided challenges. The exact set can evolve over time as the motion engine expands.

Does the app work for beginners?

Yes. The experience is meant to be challenging without being hostile. Beginners can still complete valid movement and earn time without needing elite-level form.

Platform and setup questions

Why does Android ask for special permissions?

Android blocking depends on accessibility and related system permissions so the product can detect app transitions and present the lock flow at the right time.

Why is iPhone setup different?

iPhone app control runs through Apple’s Screen Time stack, including Family Controls, Managed Settings, and Device Activity. That means the iOS version follows Apple’s model rather than Android’s.

Do you store my camera feed?

The product is designed around workout verification, not media collection. For exact data handling and retention details, see the Privacy Policy.

What if I reinstall the app or log back in later?

AfterReps includes a returning-user recovery path so people can sign back in cleanly instead of being forced through first-run onboarding again.

Where should I go if something does not work?
